Welcome to the world of touring bindings with the Crest 10.
ATK would say the Crest is ATK's Swiss Army knife. Weighing only 295 grams, it offers a range of lateral and vertical release values from 4 to 10, up to 20 millimeters of length adjustment, and the patented Elastic Response System. Whether you're a rookie or an expert skier, the Crest delivers everything you need for a successful and enjoyable touring experience. Let's explore its key features and why it's a top choice for perceptive adventurers.
Features:
- Toe piece: Speed Toe Piece: redesigned to improve downhill performance with its hybrid mounting pattern—narrow at the front holes and wide at the rear. Its
ergonomic lever, designed with a specific joint, makes opening, step-out,
and closing operations easier. The Speed Toe Piece also includes
Snowpack Proof System, carefully designed to prevent snow and ice from
accumulating under the locking mechanism, ensuring it remains safe and
easy to operate even on the coldest days with frequent transitions. Integrated but removable rampant support. - Heel piece: Elastic Response System: this ensures precise releases and optimal skis performances by facilitating their natural flex, enhancing downhill
performances. AP Brake System: available in sizes from 86mm to 102mm. To switch from descent to ascent mode, press the pedal all the way with one hand and rotate the heel piece head 180° with the other hand. Conversely, to switch
from ascent to descent mode, simply rotate the heel piece once again MagnetoHeel Flaps: Two carefully designed heel flaps to provide a higher touring comfort. They can be easily managed with poles thanks to an ingenious
combination of two magnets. Up to 20mm of length adjustment. Both lateral and vertical release value are adjustable. - Performing Through Lightness: ATK took its first steps in this industry by developing lightweight race bindings, and now, as then, lightness is key to achieving what athletes crave: speed. Therefore, it's easy to understand why “performance through lightness” has been the mantra that has accompanied ATK's growth in its early years. As their role in the ski mountaineering universe started to evolve, they needed some stabilization because it's easy to lose control during a phase of growth, just as it is easy to get caught up in the events. That's why they decided to keep their roots stable, not changing their approach to the activity, and ultimately not getting in their own way. In fact, as ATK expanded their catalogue to include the speed touring, touring, and free touring categories, they remained steadfast in the commitment to enabling an ever-wider range of ski mountaineers to achieve performance through lightness.
- Durability: Crafted from high-quality materials and engineered to withstand the rigors of backcountry skiing, the Crest 10 offers exceptional durability and reliability. The carefully machined components and thoughtful construction ensure longevity to this tech binding, providing peace of mind during your most demanding adventures.
